 Memories - open

Memories. If you wanted to reawaken any memories about Hogewarts, the trophy room was the perfect place. It had been four years since he'd last set foot in Hogwarts. He never dreamed of coming back here. He didn't have a clue what he was going to do as a job and now look at him. A real life Professor. He was obviously thrilled that he'd got the job, the job that was his dream when he realized that maybe coming back to Hogwarts wasn't impossible and teaching defence against the dark arts to kids was a great thing to do. Especially as his father had done it and according to the great Harry Potter, done it so well.

So, Teddy's first stop as soon as he arrived, well after he'd dumped his trunk in his new office, (that sounded too posh) he was off to the trophy room which before, when a student at Hogwarts he had no desire to visit having once had to clean every single trophy, plague and award for detention, he lost his good feeling towards the room. But now, as a teacher, he felt he needed to check out the history and of course, see if he recognised the names in there.

He rummaged through a cabinet that was full with awards of 'Special services to the school' and found three names he recognised. The first was that of a Tom Riddle whose name as soon as he read it made his heart burn and his insides boil. It might not have been him directly but it was because of Voldemort he had no parents. He threw it carelessly back into the box and picked up the next name he recognised. Ronald Weasley. He smiled as he read the name, knowing that Harry Potter would be the next one in the box and sure enough, it was. He held them in his hands, smiling down at the awards. He knew that they had won them for defeating the basilisk and discovering the truth about the chamber of secrets. He stood staring down at them both, he was holding history of Hogwarts in his hands.

James' feet were carrying him around Hogwarts. He walked looking at them and the ground. Often bumping into a suit of armour but he met no living person to bump into. Fortunately. He had woken up in Gryffindor tower to find his dorm empty and his common room packed so had decided to avoid the noise and hustle and take a walk. But as soon as he left the tower, he had no idea of where to go. He had gone down three floors before realising that he could go to the Room of Requirement. But that was now to far away. He couldn't be bothered to track back up too many flights of stairs and even a trusted short cut wouldn't lessen the length.

So he carried on going and strangely he was found to be standing outside the Trophy room. Well actually, he walked past it, but he thought he heard a rummaging sound inside that caught his attention so he tracked back. He pushed open the door cautiously hoping not to intrude on anyone and a crease formed on his smooth forehead.

He entered and a smile appeared on his face as instantly as he saw the person standing, looking down at two awards held in his hands. He opened his mouth in half disbelief. Walking over he said, "So it's true then. You really are teaching here?" He stopped next to Ted Lupin, an open mouthed disbelieving smile on his lips.

Teddy was busy gazing at the special services to the school awards for Harry Potter and Ron Weasley when he heard a voice. He looked up, sure he had recognised it and sure enough it was none other than the eldest son of Harry Potter. "James Potter." He smiled at the 6th year. "What a coincidence." He held up Harry's award and handed it over to James.

"Yes, it's true." He told Jamie, still smiling. "I will be your new defence against the dark arts teacher. You'd better start behaving young man." Changing his voice to that of mock sternness. "I know that'll be hard for you. But I won't be going easy on you in my class." He waggled his index finger at him in a telling off sort of manner but he was only joking around.

"I'm sure you know all about how your father and Mister Weasley won these awards?" He said indicating down at the two. "I suppose you didn't hesitate to ask all about your father's time at Hogwarts?" He gave James another smile, he'd literally grown up around his house so knew almost everything about the family.

Jamie took the award and stared down at it wearing the same smiling face as Teddy. "Wicked." He muttered under his breath as he stared down at it. James didn't want to let go, he like Teddy found himself staring at a part of Hogwarts history that revolved around his father and felt that it belonged to him and his family. Reluctantly he placed it back into the box and smiled up at Ted.

"I didn't believe dad when he told me. No offense, but I didn't think you'd ever become a professor, didn't think you'd want to be one to be honest." He though about what his father had told him about Remus Lupin, 'He was the best defence against the dark arts teacher we ever had. Brilliant. "Well, you were good at DADA weren't you? Let's hope you can drill it into our heads." He smirked at him.

"It's gunna be dead weird. You my Professor." He shook his head so that his black hair flew from side to side and landed neatly back into position. "I'm already plotting ways to disrupt your classes, don't worry." He smirked again and then looked back down at the awards.

"You didn't hesitate to ask either. You know more about my dad than I do." He smiled but his next words were laced with bitterness. "But it won't tell me the whole story. Cuz oh no, Little James can't handle it." He changed he tone back to it's original softness and continued. "But, yeah I know he and Uncle Ron got these for defeating the basilisk and finding out about the chamber of secrets.
