Once his arm had cleared his view, James' eyebrows raised in relief, suprise and shock. His charm had hit it's target. And the target was Braxton. He stared down at the boy and laughed at him. " suppose you sneaked off through the trees leaving me walking on my own then decided to jump out on me. Well done. You plan backfired." He smirked at the boy and shook his head in fake exasperation.
"Well, you know..." He said slowly. "I think I'm going to head back now and I see no reason not to just walk away and leave you there." Jamie was oh so tempted. The stupid idiot had tried to scare him to death and he was sure that the Slytherin would leave him lying there. But if the kid died, Jamie would never live it down. Not to mention, his father would kill him.
"But, you know what, I'm a Gryffindor, and we're worth something so, finite incantatem." He waved his wand and Braxton was able to move again. Jamie was sure he'd done the right thing so maybe Braxton would feel he owed him now but Jamie wasn't about to get his hopes up. It was a Slytherin he was thinking about. He stared at the boy with disgust. "Now that you've awoken the whole forest with your stupid antics, I doubt we'll get out alive."

have just left James Potter on the ground, unable to move. It wasn't like he would feel guilty about it in the morning, and he was pretty sure James was aware of that, which was why Braxton was actually pretty surprised he wasn't alone right now. "I suppose you want me to say thanks, but if it weren't for you being a coward and shrieking like a little girl, we wouldn't have to worry about things coming to.. eat us or something like that." Braxton shuddered a little, but made sure his wand was out in front of him. [/ul]

Anger was building up inside James now. So, the Slytherin was calling James cowardly. He'd have to see about that. "I'm sorry," Jamie said both angrily and sarcastically, "But as far as I remember, it was you who decided to play stupid little games and jump up on people. I was obviously going to be freaked out, wasn't I?" James raised his wand and stepped closer to Braxton.
"Besides, I suppose you'd have happily left me lying there unable to move on the ground and wouldn't give a d**n if I got mauled to bits by a...werewolf or something!" He looked around quickly as if expecting one to jump out at them. "So, yeah, I expect an apology but it's extremely foolish of me to think I'm going to get one"
At this, James just glared at the boy. The hatred of him had increased tenfold since entereing the forest with him. He knew it had been a bad idea from the start and now look at the position they were in. James gripped his wand very tightly, he wanted to curse him right now. There was only one thing stopping Jamie from putting the full body bind curse back on the Slytherin and that was that Braxton was ready with his wand now and being a year older than James, most likely more experienced than himself.

He watched as the boy took a step closer, gripping his wand tightly. He highly doubted James would do anything, but he held onto his own wand just as tightly down by his side, just in case he'd have to use it. He then chuckled deeply and shook his head from side to side in disbelief. An apology? As if. When was the last time Braxton had ever apologized for anything? That's right.. never. "Well good job, you're right about something." Braxton responded with another little laugh. Wrong or not, it was true that Braxton was not the type to help other people, but I guess that came with having green and silver robes.[/ul]

"I'm glad you see it that way." James said with a slight sarcasm in his voice. He glared at Braxton and turned on his heel, still gripping his wand tightly, he held it aloft. He started walking back the way he thought they'd came. All he wanted to do was put as much distance between himself and the Slytherin.
Not bothering to look and see of Braxton was following, James walked tensely, hoping against hope that he wouldn't meet anything or that Braxton was going to jump out at him again. He thought that he wouldn't do it again as it had been a stupid idea in the first place but then again, the boy was a bit dim.

James smirked to himself as Brxton pushed past him. He wanted at first to retaliate but decided against it. He'd annoyed the kid enough already. He knew why Braxton had pushed past him. It was all about Slytherin pride. James couldn't stop smiling to himself and he was glad to see that the density of the forest was lessening, meaning they were nearing the end.
"Dying to get out of here are we?" James asked Braxton just after he pushed past him. "I thought it was me who was scared?" He spoke quietly and wa sunsure of whether he had heard him or not. Either way, it did not matter.
